To help us consolidate our understanding of verbs and to begin learning about nouns, we wrote verb poems. The children worked in groups to write these, first deciding on a noun to write about. They then had to brainstorm and list as many verbs related to that noun as they could. After that, they chose 6 verbs and listed them (of course, with commas in between, because that’s what we do when we list). A sentence about the noun then completed the poems.
