Turtles Hatching - The Poems

I like Turtles
by Georgia
I finally make my way out of my sandy nest.
I see the sea coming to me.
I taste water and the air.
I smell corals in the water.
I hear seagulls squawking for food.
I feel waves crashing onto me.
I am happy.

To The Shore
by Coco

I am free from being squashed in an egg.
I see above me seagulls surrounding me and my brothers and sisters.
I taste the sand from digging out of the nest.
I smell the salty dark blue sea.
I hear the seagulls squawking and the claws clicking from the crabs.
I feel the cold water on my flippers.

My Way to the Shore
by Tyler

I see the ghost crabs surrounding me in the stormy night.
I taste the watery sand on the shore.
I smell the yummy sea.
I hear the wind rustling.
I feel the ocean making my feet wet.

Take Me To The Beach
by Emily
I finally got out of my small and sandy nest.
I see the soft and calm waves fall gently over my 27 sisters.
I taste the ocean’s water with my new friends.
I smell the fresh air and the clear winds.
I hear my 27 sisters and my 88 brothers.
I feel my friends leave me to play on the soft waves.

I finally escape my mother’s nesting hole with my brothers.
I smell the fresh salty ocean.
I see the seagulls flying in the dark above me.
I feel the hungry ghost crabs digging under me.
I hear the waves crashing in front of me.
I taste the watery sand.

I see a ghost crab coming to eat me.

Turtle Team
by Connor
I have made it from my Mum’s burrow, now off to see the sea.
I see the bright moon in the distant sky.
I taste the salt from the dark sea below me.
I smell the fresh clean air from the night sky.
I hear the wolf’s howl on the hills at night.
I feel the cool water lap up against me in my sleep.
To The Shore
by Benjamin
Might get killed on the way to the shore.
I see the ocean, other turtles and the sand.
I hear the ocean and crabs and birds.
I feel sand and water under my flippers.
I taste sand and water in my mouth.

I am finally free from that egg and now I can get to the water.
I can see the water and waves crashing down.

I can feel the waves flowing with the wind.
I Am Finally Free
by Hayley
I finally reach the surface.
I taste the sea salt in the air above me.
I smell the sea grass all around me.
I hear the ocean calling me and the ocean waves crashing.
I feel the waves pulling me into the cool, cool water.
I see a lot of different and interesting sea creatures all around me.

I Am Finally Free
by Alise
I finally emerge from my little shell and make my way to the surface.
I see how big the world can really be.
I taste the sea salt in the air around me.
I smell the sea grass above me.
I hear the loud crash of the waves.
I feel the soft sand on my tiny flippers.
