Making Patterns

We have been learning about patterns this week.  We know we can make patterns with all sort of thing – chalk, counters, blocks, sticks and stones, music, movement.  We can make patterns in a number of ways – ABABAB, ABCABCABC, ABBAABBAABBA – there are so many possibilities!  The part of the pattern that repeats is called the ‘core’, and the parts within the core are called the ‘elements’.
