Volume – today we learnt that word doesn’t just mean to turn the sound up or down, it’s a mathematical term as well. Volume means the amount of space something takes up. We blew up balloons to see how the volume of an object can change. Once we’d blow up the balloons, we put ourselves in order, from the balloon with the greatest volume to the ones with the least. We soon discovered how quickly the volume of a balloon changes once it pops – a few of the boys needed to move to the end of the line with the least volume after their balloon burst. Noisy learning but lots of fun!
