We have been enjoying reading The BFG by Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl uses some great similes in his writing. A simile is a comparison to something else using the words, ‘as’ or ‘like’. The boys came up with some similes of their own to describe the BFG:
- His toes were as stinky as rotten cheese (Jean-Wei)
- His ears were as big as truck tyres (Brandon)
- He was as tall as a crane (Luke)
- His hands were as big as a shelf (Nicholas)
- His ears were as round as a frisbee (Sanay)
- His ears were as big as a boulder (Adiel)
I’m looking forward to seeing the boys use some similes in their own writing now!
