We have been investigating volume lately. No… not the volume of voices (although they did get pretty loud at times). Volume means the amount of space something takes up.
We’ve been using blocks to make objects with a given number of blocks (the volume of the object). Then we photographed the objects from the top and the sides. We used the iPad app Explain Everything to import the photos so they could be all on one page. Then we saved that page as a photo and used another app, Flick, to flick the photo to someone else. It was very exciting! We had photos flicking to us from all over the place!
Once we received someone else’s photo, we saved that to our camera roll, then opened it and built that same object from the coloured blocks. It was a lot of fun.
What was the volume of the object that you made?
Did you manage to make an object that was the same as a photo that was flicked to you?
