In Maths this week, we have been learning about quarter, half and whole turns, and about the directions of clockwise and anti-clockwise.
We have played an elimination game, turning our bodies in the direction that Mrs W has told us to and sitting if we got out. It was very exciting! We have also looked at the way the hands move on clocks. Did you know that when the time is ‘half past’ something, the minute hand is half way around the clock? And for ‘quarter past’, the minute hand is a quarter of the way around the clock.
Today we used paint and stampers to make quarter and half turns. Some of us even managed to make 3/4 and whole turns! Here is some of our work:
