Wombat Food – Dairy of a Wombat

We have been reading Jackie French’s beautiful books, Diary of a Wombat and Baby Wombat’s Week.  In Diary of a Wombat, the wombat really likes carrots (when it isn’t wanting oats).  So we discussed where carrots grow, and what other vegetables grow underground (no, not brocolli or pumpkin as some thought).  We then used water colour pencils and paints to complete art work showing below ground vegetables. 

Here’s a question for you…  What vegetables do grow under the ground?  Can you name some?
