First Aid Course

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Our First Aid course last week taught us some important things.  We learnt about the difference between a problem and an emergency – a problem is one that our parents or friends can help sort out while an emergency needs an ambulance, the police or the fire brigade.

We learnt that the first thing we needed to do in an emergency was to check for danger, because if there is danger we could get hurt ourselves.  Then we would need to check for a response.  We do this by calling out, and if there is no answer, then we would squeeze the person’s shoulders and call their name.  If there is still no response, we would need to find another adult or call 000.

What are some things that would be an emergency?

What would be some things that would just be a problem?
