The Gruffalo

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We have really enjoyed the work we have been doing based on The Gruffalo.  After reading the book and seeing the play, we know the story really well.  Here is a description of the Gruffalo, written by Oliver:

The Gruffalo is a big scary creature that lives in the deep dark woods.

His head is as big as a heater.  He has terrible teeth and  his tongue is pitch black.  He has orange eyes and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose.  He has terrible jaws and tusks.  The Gruffalo’s body is as big as a university.  It is hairy.  It has purple prickles all over it’s back.  It has knobbly knees and turned out toes.  Its terrible claws are ash spiky as sharp knives.

We made Gruffalo Crumble, the mouse’s favourite food last week.  We really enjoyed eating it afterwards!
