Just as finding 20 minutes a day to exercise helps keep our bodies healthy, finding 20 minutes a day to read helps give children a huge head start at school. This can mean adults reading with or to children, children reading silently or aloud, reading cookbooks together, looking through a book whilst in the car, or a number of other ways people engage with books. My aim this year is for all the children in the class to see themselves as readers… parents can help this by ensuring their children find that 20 each day. The infographic below clearly shows the difference that 20 minutes of reading each day can make for a child.
