Limericks
We’ve been busy writing limericks. They’re mostly about bugs as we have been discussing insects that have been eaten as food. You can read the limericks and then listen to the authors read them themselves.
There once was an old spider called Kite
Who always had humans to bite
She bit one one day
Then crawled away
And hid for the rest of the night.
by Brock and Tristan
There once was a spider called Fred
Who liked to take off his head
He lost it one day
Then shouted, “Hip hooray!”
That silly spider called Fred.

There once were some poor honey ants
Who lived in an old pair of pants
They got stuck one day
Couldn’t get away
From some hungry people from France.
by Renee and Shelby
There was an old beaver called Chomp
Who went in the York footy comp
Who scored a great goal
Then ran into some poles
That beaver who went in the comp.
by Kyle
There once was an old frog called Lie
Who tried to chase after a fly
He fell in the mud
With a very big thud
That silly old frog couldn’t fly.

There was a grasshopper named Fred
Who liked to jump high on his bed
He fell down the stairs
And landed in pears
That poor old grasshopper named Fred
by Samuel and Lachie
There once was a young bug called Blue
Who wanted to eat lots of stew
He could not make it
So he threw a fit
That silly old bug called Blue.

There was a lady who ate bugs
Who kept them in very big mugs
She cooked them all day
Then ate them in May
She decided she’d rather eat slugs.
